How I Recovered From 4+ Years of OCD in Less Than 2 Months

Hey, I’m Rahmat Ullah—an OCD survivor, expert, and the creator of this OCD Out.

HOW IT ALL STARTED - Back in 2018, OCD took over my life, hitting me hard in areas I deeply cared about- hygiene, morality, and religion. No matter how much I tried to stay focused on my dreams and ambitions, I felt chained.

OCD dictated every aspect of my life—whether I was studying, working, or just doing everyday tasks. The intrusive thoughts wouldn’t stop, and the anxiety felt unbearable, like a fire burning inside me.

I tried to fight it off on my own, but the cycle of intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and rituals pulled me deeper into its grip. Every day, I was chasing relief by either avoiding certain situations or reassuring myself, only to feel trapped again and again. I’d resist these compulsions until I was on the verge of tears, but nothing seemed to stick.

WHY I AVOIDED THERAPY & MEDS - I knew therapy or medication could manage OCD, but I wasn’t looking to just cope. I wanted something deeper. I dreamed of a life where intrusive thoughts and urges would pass through my mind naturally, without needing a constant battle.

I wanted genuine freedom—one where I could work, enjoy life, have fun, and be with my loved ones without OCD constantly interrupting.

So, I set out to explore new ways. I knew that resisting compulsions was crucial, but I wanted to go beyond the conventional methods like ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention).

My goal was to discover a process that didn’t just suppress my thoughts temporarily but transformed how my mind naturally responded to them.

DISCOVERING A WAY - One day, while browsing online, I came across a counselor from another country who offered a fresh take on treating OCD. His method was similar to ERP but added some smart, natural tweaks. It emphasized two key things:

  1. Involuntary exposure – letting myself face triggering situations naturally without forcing it.
  2. New ways to perceive thoughts – instead of fighting or avoiding them, he helped people reinterpret their thoughts differently.

I gave this approach a shot, and though it didn’t feel like magic at first, it slowly started working. It was like my brain finally found a way to “reframe” these intrusive thoughts. Over time, the grip of OCD began to loosen, and I started seeing these tough situations through an anti-OCD lens.

But let’s be real, it wasn’t easy at first. I still had some battles resisting those nagging compulsions. However, I was determined to break free and regain control of my life.

MIXING STRATEGY WITH SMART INSIGHTS - I also immersed myself in learning more about how the mind works. I focused on understanding behavior patterns and how to rewire my thoughts and actions. I combined this natural knowledge with the counselor’s method and started to notice rapid improvements.

With each passing day, I felt more in control. Compulsions no longer dictated my actions, and intrusive thoughts lost their power over me. The thoughts still came, but they felt as harmless as clouds passing in the sky. I stopped reacting to them, and slowly, the anxiety faded.

THE TURNING POINT - Within just a few weeks, it was like my entire mindset had transformed. I no longer felt like a prisoner of my thoughts. I could go about my day, study, work, and spend quality time with loved ones without the interruptions of OCD.

The intrusive thoughts became background noise—something I could easily ignore while focusing on what mattered.

And the peace I’ve found? It’s beyond words. Today, I feel truly free, enjoying life the way I always wanted to—without the constant interference of OCD.

MISSION TO HELP OTHERS - My mission now is to help others achieve the same kind of recovery—not just managing OCD, but completely shifting how their mind responds to it. I’m not offering the same old coping techniques. I’m here to empower people to take back control so that OCD no longer calls the shots.

If you're ready to step into a life where your thoughts don’t hold you back, and freedom is within your reach, I invite you to explore this journey with me. Full Recovery is possible—you just need the right process and the willingness to see your mind differently.

What the buyers are saying:

Why can't you live with Uncertainties and Resist Urges?

See, whatever you feel, think, or believe about something is the result of your thinking and beliefs.

OCD attacks you on the things that you care about because that is where it finds you sensitive. If you get intrusive thoughts about them, you would probably act on them because of your beliefs and emotions.

For example - you act on these doubts and urges related to things like your hygiene, relationships, morality, etc.

The sensitivity to these things plays an important role, otherwise, you would be anxious about uncertainties in things you do not care about that much - (e.g. - Drinking water and being uncertain about its contamination by germs or driving a car even when you don’t have certainty whether you will reach the destination safely, or anything else)

So, when you act on those distressing feelings and uncertainties over and over again that you care about, your brain starts to believe that what you're doing is incredibly important. It's like sending a signal that says, 'This is a big deal, don't ignore it!'

This gives a boost to your ‘Perceived Importance Level’.

Perceived Importance Level means how much significance you give to your doubts and urges. It's a mix of how your brain interprets things and your own beliefs and emotions.

The more importance you attach to these feelings, the more you'll find yourself caring about those doubts and urges.

For example, someone with Contamination OCD might act on their uncertainties briefly, like washing their hands once or twice, and then go about their day.

On the other hand, someone dealing with the same OCD theme for a year might spend more than five minutes washing their hands and struggle with washing other body parts or even taking a shower.

The difference here is in the Perceived Importance. The first person attaches less importance to their uncertainties compared to the second person.

Now, here's the thing – people who don't have OCD often don't even notice these doubts or feelings. To them, these doubts are like the lowest priority on their mental to-do list.

It’s the same for the uncertainties which you don't care about that much (e.g. - The above example of driving a car by not paying attention to the uncertainty of reaching a destination safely, etc.). In those activities, your perceived importance is the lowest.

So, it all comes down to how much importance you give to your doubts and urges. And we've got a handy diagram to show you the connection between them.

So, if you want to get back to your original life, all you have to do is bring your perceived importance level to rock bottom.

Therefore, I have created an ebook where you can know how you can actually bring it to the lowest point.

In that ebook, you will get the path that you can use to recover rapidly and live your life the way you want regardless of your OCD theme or situation.
